As a former teacher with literature degrees, I’m a book lover and pretty quiet, but I like walking and exploring new areas. I love animals, have kept fish, rehabilitated injured pigeons, and recently spent eight weeks budgie-sitting for a neighbour. I particularly love cats and brought two home with me when I returned from the US twelve years ago. Sadly, my lovely cats have now both passed away, and my lease doesn’t permit new pets. It would therefore be wonderful to care for other people’s pets, albeit temporarily, in their own homes. My last four years were spent as full-time carer for my late mother who suffered with dementia, so now that I’m no longer tied to the home, I’d like to move around again. I’ve owned three properties with well-stocked gardens, so tending borders and plants would be an added pleasure.
