Couple in our mid 50s who sold our home in 2014 and started traveling with our daughter (now 13 yrs old) to see places we'd never been. Initially thinking "gap year" and wondering if we could do it as a family, we found it was possible, and grew to love the travel lifestyle, so we didn't stop -- except to manage a few BnBs in Hawaii for 18 months! We have discovered that we prefer longer stays to short ones, so we get to experience new places as if we were residents instead of tourists. We also prefer calm pets over hyper ones (who doesn't?), but we've enjoyed all kinds along the way -- from roosters that need careful watching and dogs who need multiple walks each day to independent cats who mostly want a warm lap once in a while.
