We've lived in Alicante for 12yrs​,​ having previously lived and worked in Andalucia. The surrounding countryside and opportunities for outdoor exploration are greater and​,​ although it is a tourist area with all the usual facilities very close by​,​ the local atmosphere seems rustic and less commercialised. We've always had domestic pets​,​ but cats seem to grow on trees here​,​ so we acquire a varying number of “abandonados” that we care for​,​ 5 of whom we now own. Our household is pretty relaxed​,​ the garden large but easy to maintain​,​ the pool is big and we have a self contained fully equipped guest house as well as the main house. TV and WIFI fitted in both.
