My husband and I both work, though David is semi-retired, so we have a spacious office you can work at should you need to. OUR HOME – Our home is a comfortable1930s 4 bedroom home with a wrap around garden. We have a modern eat in kitchen with all the mod cons, and great Wi-fi around the house. As our guest and housesitter you will have your own room with an ensuite shower room upstairs. TOWN – Our town of High Wycombe is an ancient market town with an industrial history of producing furniture and paper for newspapers. The town has many amenities and facilities including a theatre, several cinemas, a park and a couple of shopping centre. There is also a twice weekly farmers market in the old High Street. LOCATION – Despite our urban location we are located in the Chiltern Hills and are surrounded by beautiful woodlands and hillsides. We can show you some lovely local walks in public fields, and some National Trust properties nearby – e.g. Hughenden Manor. Towns to visit nearby include Marlow and Henley on the River Thames, TRAVEL – We are 35 mins from Heathrow airport. There is a bus service between High Wycombe and Heathrow. London is 25 min by train on the Chiltern Line – the overground train takes you directly to Marylebone station in London. Oxford is 25 min by train on the Chiltern Line – the overground train takes you to the centre of Oxford city. Please get in touch!

A bit of a different housesit for us in High Wycombe as we didn’t have any pets to look after. The house is within walking distance of Hughenden Manor a beautiful National Trust property. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind to us so we didn’t explore as much as we’d wanted to although we did scout out all the local coffee shops and I did a lot of running. Who knew that High Wycombe was so hilly! Some great hill training for me though 😊 We made the most of the convenient trains to London & the easy drive to Oxford. We kept in regular contact with Lamia & David who were very responsive in answering any questions. Lamia also left very detailed notes that were easy to refer back to if needed.

I enjoyed a wonderful house sit in Lamia and David’s comfortable family home. The house has a lovely family vibe and they both made me feel very welcome. As I wasn’t caring for any pets, Lamia allowed my Cat Molly, who I travel with, to have run of the house and she really enjoyed exploring all the different rooms. Indeed, she managed to quickly find all the places where the sun shone in through the windows, little sweetie. The neighbourhood was safe and very convenient for shops and great local walks. I would definitely recommend Lamia and David’s home for any house sitter, and I am very much looking forward to returning there during the Summer, as Lamia has booked me for another sit. Thank you so much guys. :)
