Our home is a desirable one off contemporary design built on an exclusive development in the Afan Forest, conveniently located just off the M4. It is light, airy and very comfortable with split levels on each floor.
The private driveway has ample parking. The back patio is perfect for coffee mornings or a glass of wine in the evenings. There are vegetables planters and potted plants dotted around the garden. This year, our garden project is embedding over 50+ plants brought over from our previous house into the blank canvass garden. It is still work in progress and will continue to evolve with the seasons.
The kitchen is well stocked with Asian and western staples, sauces, spices and condiments. Fridge, freezer, ovens, air fryer, washing machine and wine cooler are all that one needs for everyday survival.
There is good wifi connection for streaming and working from home.
Our immediate neighbours are a young family with 3 kids and 2 dogs. They are friendly and very helpful.
The pollution level is low, hence the air quality is fresh. Nobody warned us that it would rain a lot in Wales, which is why the hills and mountains are so green. Always pack a waterproof jacket and umbrella in the car.
There are no convenient public transport in the area. A car is required to go to the train station, supermarkets, retail shops and eateries. We have collated a list of good restaurants and pubs to take our friends and family whenever they visit.
There are numerous walking/hiking/biking trails from our home. Richard Burton's birthplace and trail is 5 minutes drive. The soft sands of Aberavon Beach is 5 miles away. We are ideally located for ventures in to Cardiff or day trips to Swansea, Gower, Rhossili Bay, Saundersfoot and Tenby.
Michael Sheen and his parents live in Port Talbot. Anthony Hopkins was spotted at a local fish and chips. We are yet to bump into them but I have met Ruth Jones (Nessa in Gavin & Stacey) in Cardiff.
