Hello, I'm Geefsee.
HOUSE-SIT We have a detached 1920s house with a large garden a few minutes walk from the beach. It is on a bus route and within walking distance of the local shops in Freshwater. There is a large comfortable bedroom with king-size bed, and a separate bathroom for our sitters. In season there are popular beach bars and restaurants very nearby at Colwell Bay and Totland Bay, and all year round there is a choice of good pubs and restaurants within a couple of miles radius. There might be light gardening to do - watering the greenhouse/veg plots for example. PETS We have a 14 year old Patterdale Terrier 'Maisie' who thinks she is still a puppy. She absolutely must be kept on a lead when walked; this is very important because she is poor with recall and we can lose her for days if she escapes. She is a delightful house dog and loves people but isn't good with other animals. She enjoys time outside in our garden which is very secure. LOCATION Our house is on the western side of the Isle of Wight very close to the coast: sandy Colwell Bay is about 5 minutes walk. The village of Freshwater is under a mile away and has two supermarkets, plus a very good independent butcher, baker and fishmonger, a library and a sports centre. Yarmouth, with ferry to Lymington, is about two miles away. The bus stops nearby. There are numerous fabulous scenic walks in the vicinity. Our house is actually on the coastal path that goes right round the island (about 75 miles!). The island is well known as an excellent location for cycling, and of course it is also famous for sailing and water based activities of all sorts. In 2021 a paddle board rental business started up at the beach and we expect them to be there again this year. TRIPS We plan to have some trips away in the UK/Ireland in our camper van. We are flexible on dates but hope to have about 2-3 weeks at a time.

Another lovely stay looking after the adorable Maisie, she is such a character, I love her to bits. George and Ann are a lovely couple who make me feel so welcome. The house is a really nice place to stay and has a lovely garden to sit in when the weather is agreeable. It is close to shops, beaches and restaurants. Buses pass frequently at the end of the road.

A return sit to look after the adorable Maisie, she is a pleasure to look after. I was given a very warm welcome from her mum and dad who made me feel at home in their lovely house. There are lots of nice places to visit on the island and good tourist buses for those without cars. The house itself is within walking distance to a beach and is on the coastal path. I love this sit and hope to be invited back.

Staying in this house sit has been a joy .. my patrons took time and trouble to orientate me to their home and neighbourhood before they left .. Maisie the little dog has been good company and required minimal care . I’ve been fortunate to have great weather , a truly beautiful garden to enjoy and swims in the sea just a short stroll away

It was nice to meet the friendly George and Ann, Maisie the dog too. Maisie was an easy dog to look after who enjoyed many walks while we were there. It was good that she could roam the large garden without the possibility of escape. We had a good time exploring IOW and probably managed to see everything on our todo list.

I really enjoyed this house sit. Ann and George are a very friendly couple who had left clear instructions for looking after Maisie. Maisie is adorable and so easy to look after although she splits her time between cuddling up on the sofa, telling dogs off for passing her gate and digging under the shed!! I was made to feel very welcome and was taken on a tour of the nearby area which was very useful. The house is lovely and is close to the beach and shops. There are buses that pass along the road outside so it is easy to get around. There is a large garden for sitting in. Would love to go back.

George and Anne are very welcoming with a lovely home, close to beach and village, they are both full of information about the island and what to see. Maisie is lovely if you like a loving dog she is it, easy to care for except for her dislike of other dogs .which George and Anne explained every thing in detail We really enjoyed this sit.

Had a wonderful time looking after Boris an elderly Labrador who was quite happy to roam the large garden when we were home. Boris loves his food and will let you know when it's meal time. He was perfectly happy to be left for 4 hours so we were able to explore the beautiful Island. Ann and George were very friendly and welcoming and left clear instructions for everything. They have a lovely home within walking distance of the beach and shops. Would recommend this as a house sit
