I spent a lovely couple of months in Wootton, on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire borders. In fact, my time there went by very quickly. There is beautiful countryside right outside the door, so it’s a walkers paradise. The neighbours were also lovely and I had great fun getting to know them over coffee and muffins on a few occasions Plus the nearby towns of Ashbourne and Derby were fun to explore. By the time I left, I was on first-name terms with the staff of the local Costa coffee! The star of the show however, and the reason I was there of course, was the cat KitKat. She is just the most adorable kitty and I fell in love with her immediately, as she is the most affectionate and sweet character. She spent most days sitting with me, as I work for myself, so I put a blanket on the chair next to me. When I wasn’t sitting there, Kitkat would seek me out and ask me to sit down with her! Little sweetie. I will miss her very much, that much is certain. Thank you Kitkatk for making my time caring for you so special.

This is a delightful area of the countryside with the main road running by the side of the village. It is very peaceful and relaxing. Jane and Gilbert were most welcoming and had a lovely evening meal for me which was most welcome after my drive from Bangor in Wales. I had a most enjoyable time with KitKat. We shared lots of lap time together. It is a very friendly neighbourhood where people have the time to stop and greet each other. There are many public foot paths across the fields, my favourite being the one leading to the nearby village of Ellastone. I am delighted to be returning in Sept for another sit.
