(by Stripe)Hello, my name is Philippa. I live in idyllic surroundings in rural Andalucia, up in the hills, an hour from the coast with my dogs, cats and donkeys. When I have to leave this paradise to visit friends and family, I need someone to look after my beloved retinue of animals, and keep an eye on the house and property generally . For this house-sit you must be someone who likes the countryside, and be happy in your own company, (or come as a couple) as the house is quite isolated. There are other houses dotted around, but no close neighbours. The nearest village is 10 minutes drive away, and the nearest town Loja is 15 minutes away. The ideal house-sitter is someone who enjoys country walks, values peace and quiet and above all, an animal lover who will take care of the animals and my house as though they were their own. You must be a good experienced and confident driver (car provided for shopping, dog walking etc) with a full licence, as you will need to drive to get to the shops. There is no local public transport. Although I provide a car, you will be responsible for any fines you incur whilst driving it, and any excesses in the case of accidents. There are 2 small dogs, various cats (currently 8), plus 2 donkeys and a pony. They're easy to care for - you do not need previous experience. But you must be fit enough to go up and down to the donkeys' field at feeding times (approx 200m each way, on a slight slope), move bales of hay, clean up the eating area twice daily and wheelbarrow it away from the stable. Also to take the dogs for a walk each day. Winter in Andalucia can be glorious - bright and sunny by day, and not getting dark till 6pm even in deepest winter! The skies are a wonderful crisp blue, though the nights are cold and can be often be frosty. This house-sit would suit someone who is happy and content with a relaxed and peaceful country life, someone perhaps who likes reading or painting. There's even a piano if you're musical! Plenty of lovely walks around, plus riding stables and tennis courts not far away. From here you can explore the glorious heritage of Andalucia: some of its beautiful cities are within easy reach for a day trip, for instance Malaga and Granada. Nearest good shops are in Loja the nearby town about 15 minutes drive. Driving is essential.

We fell in love very quickly with Phillipa's unique family of animals. From the ever adorable Tintin and the magnificent mix of beautiful cats, to the amusing characters of Daisy the donkey, Goldie the Shetland pony and Fonzie the mischievous mule, and all set in the most beautiful, peaceful, haven of Andalucia, as close to heaven on earth as you'll ever get. It was an absolute pleasure looking after all the animals and an added bonus for us forming a friendship with Phillipa.

Philippa is a lovely lady and made us feel very welcome preparing a wonderful meal on our arrival, she was very informative about the pets and the local area and spent time showing us local walks and where all the amenities were .we thoroughly enjoyed looking after all the animals especially enjoying our walks and time with Mogli , Cesca , and Tintin , they are adorable dogs and we became very attached to them . Philippa lives in a spectacular mountain retreat with the most breathtaking views and if you enjoy outdoor pursuits your in for a treat , we very much enjoyed our stay .

We had a wonderful house sitting experience at the home of Phillipa. She is a well prepared and attentive host. She cares about your happiness as well as the happiness of her pets. The home was clean and comfortable. The location is was remote with no close neighbors. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet but it's not for everyone. The animals were wonderful, with lots of personality. We definitely would recommend this sit.

I've just completed a lovely house sit at Phillipa's wonderful home in Granada. The house itself is very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful set within very picturesque countryside. However the best thing about this house sit has to be the adorable animals.....donkey mule pony dogs and cats!! They simply love people and are all good fun and great company. Phillippa will make you most welcome and will also provide all of the necessary information to make the house/animal sit quite straightforward. In addition she will give you lots of information on the local area as well as what else there is to do such as visit Granada or Cordoba etc. I can certainly recommend this amazing house sit to anyone who enjoys animals scenery and great weather.

It was a joy to be involved with Philippa and her wonderful family. We had a tremendous amount of fun and enjoyed our time immensely. Our new found friends provided us with a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment. The walks wonderful environment and tranquility were greatly appreciated. An absolute pleasure thanks from both of us.

It did not take me very long to realise that Philippa had agreat affection for all her animals and her main concern was that they wouldbe not just fed & cared for but they would be happy and content while she was away. the dogs cats and donkeys were a delight to be with loads of affection and easily managed. Philippa had prepared well in advance and had thought of all eventualities which made for a very relaxed stay for me. The property is very remote and i knew this going in the home is beautiful and the surroundings amazing the isolated location may not suit everyone but i loved it especially as i had great company from the pets. Without question Philippa is a pet owner who is a pleasure to work with and i miss being there and would love to return.
