My name is Declan and I am retired from a career in banking in Ireland. My wife and I have a property in the Occitane region of SW France. It is situated close to Auch​,​ the capital of the Gers region. The property comprises a large (5 bedrooms) farmhouse-style house with a kitchen​,​ living room​,​ dining room and 3.5 bathrooms. There is also a separate 2-bedroom apartment. The gardens cover approx. 6​,​000 sq. meters. There is a swimming pool and a small lake. It is a 5-minute walk into the local village where you’ll find shops café​/​restaurants and the Post Office. Larger supermarkets are in towns 8-10 KM away. The area is rural and the main industry is farming. The rear of the property looks out onto vineyards and the surrounding countryside is blanketed with fields of sunflowers and maize at appropriate times of the year. We are looking g for somebody to housesit for approximately 3 months from mid-August 2025. There is potential to extend beyond 3 months or re-visit for another housesit​,​ if agreeable to both parties. We currently have no pets but yours are welcome. In return of board​,​ we would ask the house sitter to undertake some gardening and pool maintenance. The gardening would mostly consist of grass-cutting and strimming​,​ which might take 4-5 hours​/​week. The pool maintenance would require checking and topping up chlorine & salt levels​,​ emptying the filter basket daily and operation of the pool robot.
