HOME:
My house is a victorian terrace on a green in kendal. It's minutes from both the town centre and our local hill with views of the Lakes it's ideally situated for exploring our market town.
The house has beautiful original features and is stylishly decorated. With a lot of plants! It has a working open fire in the lounge, a large clawfoot tub, and a south-facing bedroom looking over the green. There is also a back garden where Ben likes to play.
You would stay in the main bedroom which features a European double bed with a very comfortable sprung-hybrid mattress. There is an office space with an adjustable standing desk if you need to do some work while you're here. There is a washer and an electric drying rack.
There are a load of plants in the house which would love a tiny bit of water twice a week.
MY PET and PET CARE:
Ben (who doesn’t know his name) is a beautiful ginger boy who is very attached and like companionship. He was a rescue so comes across as confident but is quite anxious wanting calm, quiet and love.
Personality: He likes strokes more than anything and will abandon food if it means someone might pet him. This is why he'd prefer a live in companion. He isn’t in your face about wanting attention but if he’s anywhere nearby it’s safe to assume he wants affection. Walking away from you is more about not understanding how inconvenient that is vs wanting you to stop petting him. Ben is well-behaved. He doesn’t go on the counter or table, knows not to scratch furniture or carpets and doesn’t bother with the plants (except to check if they’ll stroke him).
The Basics: He eats a combo of chicken (raw) & kibble 3 times a day. He has a litter box which I scoop twice a day so that it never gets dirty or smelly.
Interaction: He LOVES to play and have interaction so ideally you play with him a few times a day and the max time to leave him alone is 6-7hrs. He’s an indoor cat except a small enclosed garden out back so can get bored.
Doors open: He's sleeps through the might in the office chair, although I allow him on the bed. This is his home as well as mine so I don't lock him in or out of spaces and keep all internal doors open even in winter. I also make sure he has access to windows.
Updates: I'd love to speak beforehand before comfirming a sit and also enjoy regular updates.
THE AREA:
In addition to exploring the lakes, or enjoying the history of Kendal itself there is no shortage of places to eat & drink. I will provide a list of recommended cafes and restaurants both locally and out of town should you wish to enjoy. There is public transport available into the Lakes via bus or train. However if you have a car it will be more convenient. There is on-street parking and a parking permit available.
