OUR HOME
We live in a detached 3 bedroomed house on a hill above Vera. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the town. That is why any sitters would need a car. All the amenities in town such as shops, doctor etc are then easily accessible. We have a modern health centre with emergency services.
There is a garden/drive all around the house and we have a 360 degree view of the sea in the distance in front and the mountains behind. there is an internal courtyard which is completely private and is a real sun trap.
We have Spanish neighbours about 300 metres away and there is a horse riding club just up the road. There are vegetables in the fields in front and to one side and our neighbours cultivate our field which is behind the house.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
While we are away in June there is a fabulous Moors and Christians festival nearby, and also the festival of San Juan where you will find bonfires and music on the beach to celebrate the beginning of Summer. It's a lovely event.
OUR PET CAT
Chico our pet cat is a young healthy cat, who takes no medication. Please note he is not at all cuddly, though he may possibly sit next to you on the sofa. He is quite anti social really and suspicious of new people, but we've had people looking after the house for a while and they say he does eventually come round. He spends a lot of time outside hunting, and would stay out al night if you let him. We manage to bring him indoors by giving him wet food in the evening. The rest of the day it is dry food.
