After having travelled extensively as a chef on private yachts for years I bought an apartment in Palma de Mallorca more than 20 years ago. When I left the yachts and moved ashore​,​ I started to create a green space on the big terrace that was just a walled tiled area. And 15 years down the line there is this lush plant filled area​,​ attractive to friends​,​ birds​,​ bees and a funny inquisitive cat that was never outside before I adopted it. What a luxury to wake up listening to a blackbird sing whilst living in the middle of town. Sadly enough my feline companion passed away recently​,​ but the plants on the terrace and balcony still need looking after during the period I intend to travel.
