We live in a single storey barn on a quiet country lane between the attractive towns of Bruton, with renowned art galleries and restaurants, and Castle Cary a quintessential Somerset town. The Newt Gardens, the historic cathedral cities of Wells and Sherborne and the mystical town of Glastonbury are all within easy reach. The local stations have direct trains to Bath, Bristol, Taunton and the south west coast
The front gate leads you into the most beautiful lanes for walking and cycling. Our neighbours are all very friendly - including the cows, goats and ponies. Within a ten minute drive there are paddle courts, local craft shops, bike hire, a swimming pool, intriguing cafes, good local pub up to Michelin star restaurants, and train stations. A car or bike would be advised.
Steps Barn is an ‘easy, relaxed and light filled home with a guest area - 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. The traditional kitchen is at the centre of the house next to the snug, with access to the back garden, and a dining room. The front garden captures the sun rise and morning sun and the back garden and summer house have the most fabulous sun sets.
We have súper fast wifi and a study should you like to ‘work from home’.
Seve and Murphy are both very chilled and easy to look after.
Murphy is s true Westie, independent, knows his own mind and wants affection on his terms, but wants people around him. Hes elderly with the inherent problems of age but is still active, frisky and enjoys his outings - when he wants.
Seve is a very soft, happy, friendly lab who just wants affection. He can be protective of the garden and sometimes can be a little aggressively frightened of other dogs of a similar size.
Both love to be taken out and behave very well in bars and restaurants
