Our single-storey home is nestled near a mountain overlooking the sea in an area known as Gaoth Dobhair in northwestern Ireland. A good road leads to a chain of charming seaside towns including Bunbeg, Gortahork and Falcarragh, all within a leisurely 25-minute drive along the coast. One bedroom is available to sitters (with comfortable double bed) with a mountain and garden view. Our home also has a large, modern, fully-equipped kitchen, sitting-room and an extended living room, a dining area with large bay-windows granting excellent views over the Ocean and the islands. We have a wood-fired stove in the kitchen that we use for heating the house and an open-fireside in the living room. Oven, cooker and shower are electric so you only need to make the fire if you require a very warm house.
There are about nine beach and coastal walks within 15 min drive from us as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs.
There is live music in various locations almost every day of the week.
But to enjoy all these, sitter needs a car as we don’t have any public transport.
